I always liked to ride in the car, particularly since I sat in Mom's lap and helped her drive until I weighed about 70lbs. One day though, I could tell Mom was packing for a long trip. I ran around the yard and got all my toys and put them in the car. Mom said we were moving to Chicago. That meant we had to drive from Mobile, AL on the Gulf Coast all the way to Lake Michigan! Some of our drive was pretty uneventful, northern Alabama and Indiana are particularly BORING!!! I slept through most of that, but I thought the cities like Indianapolis, and Nashville were interesting. I also got to stay in my first hotel, the Marriott Residence Inn. The room service was pretty poor though, no Milkbones!!
